6061 / 6061-T6 Aluminum

It is worth noting that long-term exposure to outside elements without painting or applying a clear coat finish will result in the material oxidizing (developing a white chalky surface).

Alloy 6061-T6 is a temper condition indicating that it has been heat-treated and artificially aged, which increases the strength of the material. The "-T6" temper provides improved mechanical properties, including higher tensile strength and hardness. It maintains good corrosion resistance and retains its formability. Alloy 6063-T52 is a temper condition indicating that it has been stress-relieved after extrusion. The "-T52" temper provides mechanical properties suitable for cold forming. It offers good formability and corrosion resistance. This temper is typically used in applications where cold forming is required.
