Custom-Cut Tolerances

Custom-cut dimensions at Cut2Size Metals come with a standard tolerance, but higher precision is available for an additional cost, catering to a wide range of fabrication needs.

A Little Tolerance, Please

When you specify dimensions for a custom cut, we will cut your material to that size, with a tolerance of +/- 1/16". This means if you order, say, a custom-cut piece of angle 27" long, any size between 26 15/16" and 27 1/16" is within tolerance.

Dead Nuts

Do you need a minimum or maximum size? If you need your material to have a tolerance of - 0", add 1/16" to the specified dimension to make sure your piece isn't too small. If you need your material to have a tolerance of + 0", subtract 1/16" from the specified dimension to make sure your piece isn't too large. Either way you will have enough material to make the final piece "dead nuts."

Can You Get It Any Closer?

Yes, we can, but it sometimes costs more. We have laser, waterjet, high-definition plasma, vertical routers, and other ways to get extremely precise cuts. In some cases, we can offer tolerances of +/- .005". Give us a call at (812) 429-1634 if you need these types of tolerances, and we can talk about options.
